ASPB Undergraduate Scholarship

Purpose: To promote education in the field of professional biology, by recognizing and encouraging high standards of scholastic achievement by students studying the biological sciences.

Conditions:

  • One scholarship offered at each of the Universities of Alberta, Calgary and Lethbridge.
  • Open to students entering a full time biological program at the graduate level. To be awarded on the basis of academic standing.

Scholarships: Three annual awards of $2,500.

D. Alan Birdsall Memorial Scholarship

Purpose: This scholarship is awarded to a graduate student studying in the field of fish management or fish biology at the University of Alberta.

Conditions: To be awarded on the basis of academic merit, leadership qualities and community involvement.

Recipient must be registered at, or admissible to, the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research at the Univeristy of Alberta in a full time thesis program leading to a master’s or doctoral degree, or must be a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Alberta.

In alternate years, preference will be given to a student who previously attended the University of British Columbia or previously resided in B.C.

Scholarship: One cash award of $4,000.00 or two cash awards of $2,000.00 each.
