Summary
On September 1, 2010, ASRD released the Enhanced Approval Process (EAP) for Crown land surface acquisitions. The EAP replaced the Environmental Field Report (EFR) system and all upstream oil and gas disposition applications filed after September 1, 2010 were required to follow the EAP. In addition to the new application process, the regulations guiding Crown surface acquisitions were overhauled and re-organized into a new document, also in effect on September 1, 2010.
The oil and gas industry had to adapt to the new application procedures to incorporate the EAP and regulatory requirements into existing procedures and protocols. Marquis Alliance will present on significant changes to the criteria and the role of the Environmental Consultant in the industryâ??s acclimation to amendments to regulatory and approval procedures. The release of the EAP will be used as a case study of such.
