Description

This one-day workshop consists of a practical and theoretical introduction to advanced vascular plant identification. The workshop focuses on learning vascular plant morphology and terminology, and using taxonomic keys and field guides to increase the comfort level in identification of the species present in Alberta. Focus will be on plant identification of hard to identify groups (grasses, willows, etc.), including tips on field identification of these plant groups, with a focus on and northern and western Alberta species. This course is designed for people with experience in plant identification, or as the continuation of the ASPB introductory plant identification workshop.

Registration

Registration includes lunch, refreshments, and manuals. Registrants are encouraged to bring a hand lens, the Flora of Alberta (if possible).

Maximum 15 people. The registration and payment deadline is June 15, 2010.
