Description

This workshop consists of a practical and theoretical introduction to Carex identification. Focus is on learning morphology and terminology, and using taxonomic keys and field guides to learn species of Alberta. This course is designed for people with little or no sedge identification experience, and for those who want to refresh their taxonomy and terminology.

Registrants are to bring a handlens, a dissecting needle or forceps, a copy of Flora of Alberta and if possible, a copy of Plants of the Western Boreal and Aspen Parkland by Johnson, Kershaw et al.
