Environmental Risk Assessment Specialist

As a core part of its environmental risk and regulatory activities, Meridian Environmental Inc. routinely conducts human health and/or ecological risk assessments for new and existing industrial projects, contaminated sites, and for the regulatory management of chemicals in the environment. We are actively seeking an intermediate-level environmental professional to participate in this growing area of practice. The position is based in Meridianâ??s Calgary office, although strong candidates wishing to work from other locations may be considered.

The position requires a university degree in a related discipline (environmental science, biology, chemistry, engineering, hydrogeology etc.) and a minimum of 5 yearsâ?? experience in environmental assessments and/or contaminated site management, which should include at least 2 years of experience in conducting human health and/or ecological risk assessments. Preference will be given to candidates with a graduate degree and training or experience in fate and transport modelling, exposure assessment or toxicology.
