Wildlife Ecologist

Golder Associates is looking for a qualified Wildlife Ecologist to be hired full time out of their Calgary, AB office as part of the Energy Projects Group.

The position would require a minimum of 5 years of field experience performing and managing species specific surveys, monitoring, mitigation, and habitat impact analysis.

The position will require experience with various terrestrial wildlife species with an emphasis on avian survey experience; including identification of passerines and raptors by sight and sound. In addition, experience with vegetation identification, along with wetland delineation would be a benefit.

The preferred candidate will have the following:

  • The candidate must possess excellent technical writing skills for creating protocols, proposals, permits, and reports.
  • The candidate must have experience conducting wildlife surveys in a variety of ecosystems and conditions.
  • The candidate must have experience in data analysis and management. In particular, experience using excel or other similar software.
  • The candidate must be comfortable working alone or in groups, and must possess a positive attitude and take ownership of tasks related to the required work.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing and consulting or a Masters degree in the biological sciences.
  • This position requires a minimum of a BSc in Ecology or related degrees with MSc preferred
