If you are self-motivated, hard-working, and work effectively in teams, Ghostpine could be a fit for you. Ghostpine is currently seeking Fisheries Technicians/Biologists for fisheries assessments on a variety of projects in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Your role will be a crew leader involved in conducting fish and fish habitat assessments as well as environmental monitoring for projects in the environmental field. You should be able to improvise and adapt field methods and techniques when conditions change, and have the ability to perform arduous work outdoors and hike long distances under adverse conditions.

Other duties may include:

â?¢operating backpack electrofishing units and other fish capturing methods;
â?¢conducting fish inventories and identifying fish species;
â?¢operating hydrologic equipment;
â?¢using GPS units and identify stream locations on maps;
â?¢accurately collecting and recording field data; and
â?¢compiling field data using computers.

Mandatory qualification requirements include:

â?¢2 to 5 yrs work experience and a diploma or degree in Biology/Environmental Science related discipline;
â?¢current certification in First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, H2S Alive, Electrofishing, and ATV safety;
â?¢willingness to travel and be away from home for extended periods of time; and
â?¢demonstrated experience in field work.
