Qualifications

  • Preferably a Masterâ??s Degree in environmental sciences, biology, or ecology plus 3 or more years relevant work experience;
  • Preferably a registered professional biologist (Alberta Society of Professional Biologists);
  • Experience with wetland assessments and biophysical impact assessments;
  • Familiar with GIS;
  • Understanding of federal, provincial, and municipal Acts and Policies;
  • Must have ability to write and review technical reports;
  • Experience with co-ordinating project tasks;
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary atmosphere;
  • Ability to correspond and meet with clients;
  • Highly motivated with an ability to work under minimal supervision;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player;
  • Must have a valid driverâ??s license.

Job Duties

  • Working within a multi-disciplinary team of environmental specialists and civil (water resources) engineers;
  • Conducting field work and assessments;
  • Writing and reviewing reports;
  • Co-ordinating and liaising with other consultants and clients;
  • Managing and co-ordinating project tasks;
  • Working with the Westhoff team to arrive at environmental and engineering concepts, designs, and solutions;
  • Reporting to senior staff on project status.
