Part-Time Biologist

We have an immediate opening for a Part-Time Biologist. This is a part-time technical position in the Ecotox Group. The individual will learn biological culture and test methods, and laboratory operations defined in HydroQualâ??s Quality Manual. All necessary training will be provided in-house.
The individual will be responsible for the care and maintenance of stock cultures of microbes, invertebrates, plants and fish. They will conduct routine tests on waters, sediments and soils as received.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

• B.Sc. in Biology or equivalent technical training;
• Laboratory experience would be an asset;
• Knowledge of general biology, ecology, microbiology;
• Works well in teams and independently;
• Detail-oriented;
• Good interpersonal communication skills;
• Organized;
• Effective workload and time management;
• Demonstrates flexibility;
• Maintains accurate and detailed records;
• Exercises initiative;
• Ability to multi-task;
  Flexible (weekend) availability required.
