AMEC Environment & Infrastructure has an immediate, full-time employment opportunity for a Wildlife Biologist/Technician in Calgary, AB. The successful candidate will join a team of wildlife biologists working on a broad range of resource development projects in western and northern Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities will be to provide support on a wide variety of projects as delegated by the lead wildlife biologist. This will involve the following:

• Conduct general and specific Species at Risk wildlife field surveys
• Data entry and analysis
• Data submissions to regulatory agencies
• Assisting with report and proposal preparation

REQUIREMENTS
The position requires that the successful candidate has a solid technical and/or academic background. Key requirements include:

• A technical diploma or University degree in biology/ecology
• Strong wildlife identification skills (visually, auditory, and
signs)
• Field experience with wildlife surveys
• A good understanding of wildlife habitat requirements,
particularly for Species at Risk
• Willingness to work flexible hours including field work under a
variety of conditions
• Strong computer, verbal and written communication skills

Preference will be given to candidates with the following:

• Experience in western Canada
• Experience in consulting sector
• A Registered Professional Biologist/Ecologist or eligibility with
the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists
• A good understanding of Federal and Provincial wildlife policies,
legislation, and guidelines
