Ghostpine Environmental Services Ltd. is a full-service environmental consulting company based in Calgary. We are currently seeking Soil Scientists for a variety of projects in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

The successful candidates will be able to:
• Describe and sample soils according to the Canadian Soils Classification System (to the Soil Series level) for upstream oil and gas projects, mining and oilsand projects;
• Develop budgets, co-ordinate and execute projects efficiently and cost-effectively;
• Interpret environmental regulations;
• Knowledge of pipeline construction soils handling techniques and reclamation methods for disturbed soils;
• Interpret environmental data and prepare technical reports for clients, regulatory agencies and contractors and;
• Liaise with contractors, regulatory agencies and landowners.

The ideal candidate(s) will have:
• a degree(s) in Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Soil Sciences or related field experience
• Professional Agrologist (P.Ag.) or equivalent designation or eligibility for P.Ag. designation.
• have the following certifications: H2S Alive, First Aid, Ground Disturbance 2, Quad Safety, WHMIS, and TDG;
• Strong time management, project planning, and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines; and
• Excellent technical writing skills.

Please note that some work for this position will be located in remote areas for extended periods of time and may require overtime, weekends and variable hours. Relevant oil and gas and regulatory experience would be an asset.
