Ausenco Sustainability is a +500 professionals’ group with a very active portfolio of projects, services and clients and is looking for a Project Manager to support our Alberta team in the renewables and/or mining sectors.
About you
You’re a Project Manager with a reputation for providing high-quality service to clients. You want to deliver environmental impact assessments, regulatory and permitting support and studies to clients with the support of a highly competent and collaborative team as well as be mentored by the best in the business. Your Responsibilities
In your role, you will have the opportunity to take on a wide variety of tasks. Some examples are:
• Serve as primary point of contact for internal and external clients in the delivery of environmental planning and ecological services.
• Developing client relationships that facilitate successful delivery of projects and the maintenance of future and ongoing opportunities.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to existing and prospective clients.
• Oversee projects involving multiple service areas and subcontracts.
• Oversee project deliverables, including quality, technical content, and consistency with client expectations.
• Review and prepare client invoices, including expenses, sub-contractor and supplier invoices, rate reviews and billing titles
• Manage purchase orders and change orders
• Track project budgets, and monitor accounts payable and receivables
• Promote and maintain a positive work environment through a culture of teamwork and cooperation within the office, region, and between other areas of the organization.
The Essentials
You are solutions-oriented and have the following skills:
• A university degree in Environmental Sciences or related field.
• A professional designation (e.g., R.P.Bio or P.Biol.) or eligibility for a designation.
• Project administration or experience managing projects, including budgets and schedules.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to think independently and strategically, maintain a positive attitude, be self-motivated and employ a strong work initiative.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
Bonus Points
The following attributes may give you a competitive edge:
• A master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience collaborating with Indigenous peoples.
• Project management experience or a PMP certification.
• Experience with environmental consulting.
• Experience with terrestrial ecology and environmental planning
• Experience with renewable energy, transmission lines, and/or mining in Western Canada or elsewhere.
