Environmental Professional / Project Manager – Cranbrook

DWB Consulting Services Ltd. (DWB) is seeking applicants for a full-time Project Manager/Environmental Professional (Biologist, Agrologist, Forester) position based out of our Cranbrook office. The ideal candidate will provide leadership, professional guidance and advice, and project management on a broad range of projects in a variety of market sectors and environmental disciplines. The role will be a mix of office and field work and the applicant should enjoy working collaboratively in a demanding, fast-paced environment that provides rewarding work opportunities.

Primary Location(s): Cranbrook, BC

Office or Field: Office and field. Flexible work schedule.

Travel: Some field work and travel are expected, but the majority of work will be in the beautiful East Kootenay Region of southeastern British Columbia.

Compensation: $30 - $42 / hr plus overtime, travel, professional dues, extended health, vision, dental and life insurance benefits, RRSP matching and year-end bonus. Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, professional guidance and advice, and project management for a broad range of environmental projects in a variety of natural resource sectors.
  • Supervising, training, and mentoring junior team members.

Your education, training, and memberships:

  • Must be registered as a Registered Professional Biologist (RPBio) with the College of Applied Biology (CAB), or eligible for registration within one year, or be a similar BC-regulated environmental professional (i.e., PAg, RPF).

Your skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated relevant work experience.
  • Effective relationship and networking skills to cultivate relationships with clients, First Nations, regulators, and team members.
  • Project management and organizational skills to coordinate and support team members and manage client expectations and project safety, budgets, and equipment.
  • Ability to review and prepare professional reports, study designs, and to develop project proposals and quotes.
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulations in BC to ensure legal compliance, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop strategic solutions.
  • Enthusiasm for mentoring and training junior team members and supporting their professional development.
  • Desirable traits:
    • Willingness to present at seminars or conferences and for networking with other professionals and prospective clients.
    • Interest in working with other professionals and subject matter experts on multi-disciplinary projects.
    • A focus on results to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
    • Ability to adapt to changes throughout project life-cycles.
