Mission

CIMA+ is growing and we are seeking junior and intermediate biologists to join our Calgary environmental team. As a team member, you will work under the supervision of senior biologists on biophysical impact assessments and wetland assessments, wetland restoration, bank stabilization and wetland management planning and monitoring.

Primary Responsibilities

Tasks will include preliminary desktop orthophotograph review, supervised field assessment of vegetation and soils, wetland boundary identification and classification, wetland functional assessment, data collection and compilation, GIS mapping, and reporting. You will also participate in various regulatory applications. There is a strong emphasis on writing and reporting skills for these positions.

Profile

  • University Degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences, or equivalent, and the courses needed to apply for registration with the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists or Professional Agrologists.
  • Optional: M.Sc. degree in Biology, Environmental Science or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-3 years of work experience with a focus on the natural environment.
  • Preference for individuals with knowledge and experience with plant identification and bird call identification.
  • Please highlight your knowledge and experience with ArcGIS.
