Summary

Competence is the ability to use knowledge, skill, judgement, and attitude to perform the job of a biologist. Continuing competency ensures that the biologist is able to practice in a changing environment and is knowledgeable of latest trends and changes in legislation. Maintaining continuing competence increases public confidence in the biology profession.

Continuing competence is an important part of any profession, and it is important that every Professional Biologist participates in the ASPB’s Continuing Competency Program and stays current in their area of practice.

To make it easier for members to track their professional development, and more efficient for auditors to gather required information, the Practice Review Committee has developed an online tracking system. To learn more about the online system and the Continuing Competency Program (CCP), this webinar is being provided for ASPB members. The presentation will prove a step-by-step walk-through of how to enter your information into the CCP tracking website.
