This exhilarating event will start with a spell-binding introduction of game show-style questions for our professional guests.  Once our ‘Contestants’ (P.Biol’s) and ‘Dating’ crowd (BIT’s & RBIT’s) are loosened up, everyone will move onto ‘Romantic Round tables’ (group discussions) with our professionals.  Each ‘Romantic Roundtable’ will have pre-arranged topics and every ‘Dater’ will have the chance to attend 2-3 of the Roundtables through the course of the evening.

Time:              6 – 8 pm (Registration from 5:45-6pm)

Location:        NEW VENUE - room 208, 105 12 Ave SE - the Kahanoff Centre (just a floor down from the ASPB office)

Summary

We have 6 very willing ‘Contestants’ (P.Biol’s), each working in different disciplines with diverse experience and interests.  From company owners to a city employee and field based careers to operations experience, ‘Daters’ will meet a good cross section of some of the ‘fish in the sea’ of biologists!

Here are the six “Romantic Round Table” topics for the evening:

• How do I Look for a Job as a Biologist in 2016?
• The Importance of Basic Plant Identification in Land Management, and how this Skill Increases Future Employment Opportunities
• Things I Wish I Knew When I Started
• The Most Challenging Aspect of my Career, Then and Now
• Finding your Sweet Spot - How to Take your Generalist Training Offered by University and College and Become an Expert

ASPB will be providing some free munchies; after all, cheap dates don’t pay for food!  Drinks and additional food will be available for purchase. 

Bring your sense of humour and some business cards.  This is going to be a GREAT event!
