Continuing Competency Program

It is important for all professional biologists to participate in the continuing competency program. The program ensures public protection by requiring professionals to engage in professional development activities to maintain their competency in their practice area.

P. Biol. members must earn 105 professional development hours over a three year period. This averages to 35 hours per year; audits are conducted to test if members are completing their requirements. There is a handbook outlining the details of the program on the downloads page on the member’s only section of the website.

You can access the Continuing Competency Program through your user portal.
