DWB/CRGL is a newly merged consulting firm specializing in environmental, engineering, forestry and GIS services and solutions. With a close-knit team, a diverse client base, and a strong reputation for quality and service, the company operates offices throughout all of British Columbia.

We are seeking applications for full-time Intermediate Biologists to join our team of professionals. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership capabilities and extensive experience in managing field-based projects. This position involves a combination of office work and fieldwork, with travel expected for field assignments and it is based out of our Prince George and Terrace offices.

Job Responsibilities:

The Immediate responsibilities of an Intermediate Biologist will include:

  • Supporting the preparation of environmental assessments and management plans in accordance with provincial, territorial and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Supervising, training, and mentoring junior biologists to support their technical and professional development.
  • Preparing technical reports, proposals, monitoring summaries, and study designs.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate environmental considerations into project design and delivery.
  • Performing field activities such as fish and wildlife salvages, water sampling, nest sweeps, and vegetation surveys.
  • Leading or supporting reclamation planning, site restoration, and environmental management initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, permits, and environmental plans, including spill response and re-vegetation.
  • Assisting in permitting processes, data collection, field logistics, and quality assurance activities.
  • Supporting project planning through scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, regulators, Indigenous communities, and key stakeholders to ensure compliance and project success.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • BSc. or M.Sc. in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Biology, or a related discipline.
  • Professional designation such as R.PBio, P.Bio, P.Ag or RB.Tech is considered an asset, or eligible to obtain within six (6) months.
  • Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in environmental consulting or the natural resource sector.
  • Experience with environmental impact assessments (EIAs) focusing on fish species, aquatic habitats, and water quality.
  • Knowledge of
  • Solid understanding of provincial and federal environmental legislation, including the Water Sustainability Act, Environmental Management Act, and Fisheries Act.
  • Familiarity with British Columbia’s regulatory processes and permitting requirements.
  • Skilled in working with regulatory agencies and stakeholders for environmental compliance.
  • Strong background in environmental monitoring, erosion and sediment control, and site reclamation.
  • Skilled in fish survey techniques: electrofishing, habitat assessments, fish tagging.
  • Excellent communication, relationship building, report writing and technical documentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, GIS, and data analysis software.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Experience operating 4x4 vehicles off-highway.
  • Capable of managing fieldwork in remote and challenging environments.

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $32–$44 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
