Castle Mountain Resort Inc. requested a decision on whether an environmental impact assessment report will be required for their proposed future development and expansion. Alberta Environment and Parks has informed Castle Mountain Resort Inc. that further assessment is required and that a screening report will be prepared. The Director will consider advice received from government agencies and statements of concern received from the public. The Director will prepare and issue a screening report documenting the decision. Statements of concern will be accepted until November 16, 2018.
Castle Mountain Resort Inc. is proposing an expansion of their winter ski and snowboard resort to include summer activities, increase winter activities and develop additional base area facilities to accommodate a larger number of visitors.
